BioI'm an independent filmmaker living in Baltimore who loves jazz music (I've been playing bass for almost 15 years now), philosophy, art, history, and travel, with a passion for telling stories and exploring ideas through the video medium.
My free time is spent watching the great films which are a constant source of inspiration and wonder to me, reading up on philosophy (usually Camus or Sartre), listening to one of the many jazz albums that I collect (vinyl only; for some reason, the music really comes to life on vinyl), or visiting New York City.
When I'm not doing that, I am usually writing for my blog,The Art and Culture of Movies.
Filmmaking remains my true love, first and foremost. I've been making films since I picked up a camera in 1993, and despite some time spent in professional training and field work (I earned my Bachelor's degree in film in 2007, and worked in broadcast television as an editor), I'm strictly independent now. I've found there are just too many compromises to be made in the professional (read: paying) jobs, and have decided to devote myself totally to the art of filmmaking and the exploration of ideas, rather than the production of commodities.
